The Bay Area Professional Chapter of MAES is a 100% volunteer operated organization. Consisting of Hispanic engineers and scientists, our core value to the community is our membership. We are constantly in need of volunteers to assist us with our internal and external activities. 2006-2007 BAY AREA EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS

Really want to be active in the organization? Why not volunteer for one of the following positions or nominate a friend? President The President shall preside over general, emergency, and officer meetings.  The President shall oversee group activities and handle corporate relations. The President is the official representative of the chapter.  The President shall appoint committees as deemed necessary.   Vice President of Operations The Vice President of Operations shall assist the President and coordinate programs and activities.   Vice President of Outreach The Vice President of Outreach shall be responsible for all programs associated with the Bay Area Chapter’s involvement in youth activities and serve as community liaison.   Secretary of Administration The Secretary of Administration shall maintain the membership database, develop membership materials, keep meeting summaries, and prepare meeting agendas.   Secretary of Finance The Secretary of Finance shall monitor chapter finances, prepare an annual budget, collect dues, and coordinate fundraising activities.   To nominate yourself or a colleague for any of the above positions, simply send an email to elections@maes-bayarea.org with your nominations as follows: [Position]:  [Candidate Name] Example: President:  Jane Doe 1 Vice President of Operations: John Doe 1 Vice President of Outreach:  Jane Doe 2 Secretary of Administration:  John Doe 2 Secretary of Administration:  Jane Doe 3 We hope you will consider taking an active role in our award winning organization!

SCIENCE EXTRAVAGANZA CHAIR
	Member in good standing. Actively participate in the executive board meetings and operation of the organization. Focus on organizing the 2007 Science Extravaganza. This is an appointed position with a term ending February 2007.
